Pharma Industry Finland’s modes of operation and work

Pharma Industry Finland promotes the operation and development of its member companies and influences the Finnish health policy. The assembly of the member companies is PIF’s supreme decision-making body.

The decisions on the PIF operations are made by its members.

Work flows aim at good operating environment

Our main mission is to make Finland a predictable, transparent and interactive operating environment for our members. We pursue this aim through three workflows:

  • Social and political lobbying – we work in direct interaction with the authorities and other key operators in the pharmaceutical branch.
  • External communications and partnership building – we are active in the public arenas and co-operate with the external stakeholders.
  • Internal PIF operations and related communications – the PIF offices are in charge of expert work, collaborating and interacting with the member companies. This also involves the work in the PIF committees, workshops and networks.

Committees and expert networks

Representatives of the PIF member companies support our in-house experts in the work done in the committees, expert networks and workshops.
  • The policy committees generate ideas and support PIF’s long-term objectives.
  • The operative committees assist in the everyday work, such as drafting opinions on issues at hand.
  • Expert networks constituted by larger groups of people elaborate on specific current issues.
  • Workshops provide assistance in projects with a determined timeframe.

Our objectives for the next term of government 2011-2014

  • Chance to contribute to the preparation of various issues
  • The pharmacotherapies accessible to Finnish patients must develop in pace with the rest of Europe
  • Pharmaceutical research generates more health, wellbeing and jobs in Finland

We promote Finnish health by taking active part in the preparation of healthcare issues and in the respective public debates.
