Solutions for sustainable healthcare
The pharmaceutical industry is an important partner in the renewal and development of a sustainable and effective healthcare system.
At the moment, Finland invests less in health than the EU and other Nordic countries on average, both per capita and as a share of GDP. The level leads to inefficient care paths and to a slow introduction of innovative medicines. Financing that is sufficient to improve the healthcare system must be allocated to solutions which generate sizable health benefits.
Rational use of medicines not only optimizes the resources in healthcare but also promotes the development of new therapies. At the same time, providing input to prevention and national health strategies, such as the cancer strategy, are an investment in the future.
By supporting the operating conditions of the pharmaceutical industry, we can improve the quality of healthcare and strengthen society’s resilience and wellbeing.
